It Is Finished

I started stitching this in July, 2012, and have worked on it off and on for two and a half years--and, it is now finished!!
This is the Day by Tracy Riffle of Hands to Work Designs. Stitched on 30ct Apple Brown Bindy linen using Gentle Arts Sampler Threads, Crescent Colors, and Weeks Dye Works floss. I changed most of the floss colors that were called for, and I left off the bottom section of numbers.

Thank you for visiting!!

First Week Of A New Year

The first week of 2015 proved to be a productive one stitching-wise.
I made some progress on This is the Day by Hands to Work.

And, I started this piece--LHN's Sampler Tree Ornament, "Old Colonial" last Saturday at stitch group. I am stitching it on the recommended fabric--32ct Winter Brew linen, and am using the called for Classic Colorworks floss. I am not happy with how that snow is looking--I should have stopped stitching last night when I was getting tired)--so, I will be restitching that this evening.

I hope everyone is staying warm where it is so cold. Thank you for visiting and Happy Stitching!!

Last post for 2014--the year just seemed to breeze by.

I had three finishes this month. The first was the ornament from my last post. The second finish was Lizzie Kate's Promise Me.
Stitched on 32ct Lambswool linen using Gentle Art Sampler Threads and Weeks Dye Works floss.

The third finish was a quilt square for Quilts For Older Children and Adults.
Country Cottage Needleworks'--Daisy Cottage. I changed most of the colors in order to honor the young lady's request for her favorite colors--pink and yellow.

Do I have stitching plans for 2015? I do. I am keeping my 2015 stitching plans very, very simple. (1)I plan to stitch the new LHN's Sampler Tree Ornaments as a SAL with the stitching group at my LNS. (2)Finish the This Is The Day Sampler. (3)After finishing This Is The Day, stitch whatever is calling to me the loudest.

I would like to thank all of you who haved visited my little(kind of boring)blog in 2014. And, a big thank you to those of you who have left comments--they are so very much appreciated!

I want to wish all of you a Very Happy New Year. I hope that everyone's year is a good one, filled with lots of stitching time and lots of new stash!!

Thank you for visiting!

October Stitches

Well, this month flew by! It was a very busy month around here, and it seems that not a ton of stitching happened. But, there was a small start and finish, and some progress. All the happenings of the month, also caused me to get WAY behind in blog reading. I hope to do some catching up on that this afternoon, and especially tonight between answering the doorbell and passing out candy.

Here are the October stitches...
This is Rainbow Mandela, and the chart can be found here. The piece is for a World of Charity Stitching quilt where everyone stitches the same design, but the colors used are chosen by each stitcher--these are popular and fun quilts with the group.

And, here is the progress I made on Pooh and Piglet for the new grandbaby that will join the family in April.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope everyone(me included)has a lot of stitching time in November!!

September Stitches

Here is what I have been stitching this past month.

I made good progress on This Is The Day. The middle section is finished and all the borders are stitched. (I went ahead and added the date "2015" because I know I won't finish it this year--but I know I can get it finished next year)

I had two finishes. The first one is a square for a World of Charity Stitching quilt.

The second finish is a scissor holder by The Purple Thread.

And...there were two new starts. The first one will look like this when finished and is being stitched for the new grandbaby that will be joining our family in April!!--
DD has chosen the theme of Classic Winnie the Pooh for the baby's room, and she asked me to stitch this piece. Here is the small start I have on Pooh and Piglet.
I am stitching it on a 32ct linen called Summer Breeze and am using DMC floss.

The second new start, and one that will be featured here for a L O N G time, because it is going to be HUGE is His Eye is on the Sparrow by Heartstring Samplery. This one just called to me for many reasons when I saw it--I know it is going to take me a long time to stitch, but I figure I will definitely get my stitching money's worth out of it! : )

Here is my small start on it.
I'm using 28ct Doubloon linen by Picture this Plus and the called for GAST and WDW thread.

I think I have plenty of stitching to keep me busy in October, and I also need to catch up and keep caught up on blog reading.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope October is a wonderful month for everyone!!
